Anne's Best Fudgy Brownies

Here's what you need:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa (a quality brand is worth the money)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, melted
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  •  3/4 - 1 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped 

Lightly grease a 9x9 baking pan. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder. Whisk well and set aside.

In a separate, smaller glass bowl, add the butter and microwave until melted. Allow the butter to cool a bit and then add sugar and whisk. Add beaten eggs and vanilla and whisk.

Pour over into the dry ingredients and mix well, but don’t over mix, making sure all of the dry ingredients are incorporated...especially at the bottom. Fold in the nuts (or other additions you might be using).

Pour into your prepared 9x9 pan. Top with whole pecans if desired. Bake at 350F for 35 - 45 minutes. Enjoy!
